What To Expect:

We know that going to a church for the first time can sometimes be an intimidating experience, so to hopefully take out some of the unknowns of your first visit, here’s what a typical service is like!

What To Wear:

You might be worried about what to wear. Don’t be! Just come in whatever you feel comfortable in. Most are rather casual here at Living Word, so if that’s you, great! If you feel more comfortable in more formal attire, great! What’s important to us is your heart connection with God rather than the outfit you’re wearing.

Once You Get Here:

So once you get here, feel free to head back to the Fellowship Hall to grab some coffee and a donut and meet some folks. Or you can just go straight to the auditorium to get a good seat. If you’re a first time visitor, you’ll be given a visitor packet by one of our greeters. We do ask that you fill out the enclosed ‘Connection Card’ for our record keeping needs.

If you have children, we ask that you accompany them to their classrooms and sign them in before service. Any of our greeters or ushers would be happy to escort you to your child’s respective classroom. There’s ministry for kids age birth through 12yrs. Teens stay put with the adults in the auditorium.

Praise & Worship:

Our praise and worship service start at 9:25AM and lasts approximately a half hour. Our praise and worship has a modern feel to it, but we really don’t want you to get caught up in the style of the music. More so than how the worship is expressed, it’s the heart motive behind the worship that matters. Everything we do in our praise and worship has a scriptural base and is done in a heart attitude of worship.

After worship, there may be a short time of personal ministry as the Spirit leads.

Communion / Tithes & Offerings:

On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, we serve communion after praise and worship. All are welcome to take the Lord’s Supper with us.

We usually receive the week’s Tithes and Offerings after praise and worship. As a visitor, we encourage you to be our guest. Please, feel no pressure to give. You’re welcome to give whenever you feel comfortable and/or led of God to do so.

Announcements:

We then play our ‘Announcement Guys’ video for that week. The Announcement Guys video is just a quirky, light-hearted way to let you in on what you need to know for that week.

Message:

After all this, Pastor Al will share a relevant, life-changing message from the Word of God that you can practically apply to your day-to-day life. It’s our desire that through the messages taught here, you’ll be equipped to live a victorious, God-empowered life!

Prayer / Dismissal:

Following the message, there might be a time of prayer for anyone who needs it. After that time of ministry is over, Pastor blesses and dismisses us. We usually wrap up around 11:15. Most people hang out and visit for a while after church, and we’d love for you to stick around too so we can get to know you a little better.

Disclaimer:

Now, having said all of this, we’re not a church that sticks to a particular schedule of events. If the Holy Spirit wants to move and change the service order, we welcome that whole-heartedly and flow right along with Him. This is simply a basic service format we tend to follow, but we refuse to limit the Holy Spirit to it.
